Why Give to RFA?
Your gift sustains a legacy of local stewardship—neighbors coming together to build something bigger than themselves. It empowers RFA to nurture partnerships across schools and community groups, champion accessibility, and ensure the arts remain vibrant, inclusive, and future-focused. When you give, you’re not just supporting a season of performances; you’re helping shape a cultural home where inspiration, connection, and possibility can flourish for generations.
RFA’s commitment extends beyond performances. Scholarships and support for more than 20 local groups—including Etudes Ballet School, RAL Art Center, and the String Orchestra for Northern Neck Youth—ensure that creativity thrives throughout the community. To expand opportunities for students in grades 7-12, RFA recently partnered with Lancaster County Public Schools to plan and purchase—through a $450,000 fundraising campaign—state-of-the-art audio and lighting equipment for the new Lancaster High School Auditorium and Performing Arts Center.
The John E. Binns Society stands at the heart of the Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts’ mission: a circle of leadership donors who ensure that world‑class performances, meaningful education programs, and community‑centered arts experiences continue to thrive in our community. Their support is not simply financial—it is a commitment to the belief that the arts strengthen communities, deepen belonging, and open doors for future generations.
Named in honor of John E. Binns, whose vision helped establish the RFA as a cultural anchor for our region, the Society carries forward his legacy of stewardship. Members provide the stability that allows the Foundation to plan boldly, welcome exceptional artists, and make performances accessible to more people. Their generosity fuels youth outreach, visiting ensembles, master classes, and the vibrant On Stage season that brings audiences together year after year.
The Binns Society embodies a simple but powerful truth: the arts flourish when a community chooses to invest in itself. Each leadership gift becomes part of a shared story—one in which neighbors, friends, and families gather to experience beauty, creativity, and connection close to home. Members help ensure that our region remains a place where artistic excellence is not a luxury, but a living, breathing part of community life.
We invite you to join this circle of visionaries. If you have an interest in supporting the arts and making that legacy part of your personal financial planning, please contact us at 804-438-5555 for more information. Or safely donate online by clicking on the button below.
Your support strengthens the Foundation’s ability to serve, teach, and inspire. It honors the past while shaping the future. And it affirms that the arts matter—here, now, and for generations to come.
